LRCS Celebrates the Arts at its Annual Celebration

Javier Kiman is one of the artists featured at the 2018 LRCS Annual Celebration.

The Lakes Region Community Services Annual Celebration will be held Thursday, April 12, 4:30 -6:30 pm at the Beane Conference Center in Laconia. The LRCS Annual Celebration brings together the larger community of school and business leaders, donors, supporters, community partners, volunteers and families and individuals to appreciate those who face extraordinary challenges, recognize accomplishments and to thank all who help strengthen our community by supporting the work we do.

This year’s program “LRCS and The Arts” will honor the many ways the visual and performing arts improve and enhance lives. The program portion of the evening will include a video presentation featuring students who receive lessons at The Music Clinic in Belmont, live musical performances, and the hilarious standup comedy of Andrew Long.

Long, who lives in Alton, is an experienced actor, comedian, and comedy writer whose quick wit and comic charm “went viral” when he performed alongside Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” in 2017. He is also part of LRCS’ Self Directed Services program.

Andrew Long of Alton recently met comedian Seth Meyers at an event in Concord.

The event will begin with a catered reception offering everyone the chance to view displays of artwork created by Individuals served by LRCS. Paintings, drawings, photography, calendars and cards created by talented individuals living with disabilities will be showcased accompanied by musical performances. The event will also include Community Partner and employee longevity awards.

“We are thrilled to make the arts come alive at our 43rd Annual Celebration. The arts are such an important part of the quality of life and offer everyone a means of communication and expression. We hope the community will join us to enjoy this special event,” commented Rebecca Bryant, LRCS President & CEO.

RSVP by April 9. There is no charge to attend, but seating is limited! Respond by contacting Judy Maguire at 603-581-1504 or email: Judith.maguire@lrcs.org.
