Join LRCS in Recognizing Direct Support Professionals September 8-14
LRCS is proud to honor our dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) during DSP Appreciation Week, taking place from September 8th to 14th, 2024. DSPs are vital to the work of LRCS, providing essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities and acquired brain disorders.
LRCS employs numerous DSPs who work tirelessly in our StaffWorks Community Services and 24/7 Residential Homes. These professionals are more than just caregivers; they are advocates, mentors, and friends who play a crucial role in helping individuals achieve their fullest potential.
“DSPs are the unsung heroes of our organization,” said Wendy Robb, Director of Agency Managed Services. “Their dedication and compassion make an enormous difference in the lives of those we serve. This week, we want to shine a spotlight on their work and express our deepest gratitude.”
During DSP Appreciation Week, LRCS welcomes the community to join in celebrating the impact of our Direct Support Professionals. We encourage you to take a moment to think about the positive influence a DSP has made on you or your loved one. We invite you to share thanks, a positive experience, or an uplifting story about a specific DSP or all DSPs. Your messages will be featured anonymously on our social media pages, allowing everyone to see the significance these professionals have on our community.
To participate in celebrating our DSPs, please send your message via email to emily.ferrer@lrcs.org with the subject line “Thank a DSP” anytime between September 9 – September 13th, 2024.
About Direct Support Professional (DSP) Appreciation Week
DSP Appreciation Week is a national initiative that was first recognized by the U.S. Senate in 2008. It is organized by the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) and aims to highlight the dedication and skill of DSPs, who work with individuals with disabilities to help them live independently and thrive within their communities. The week serves as an opportunity to educate the public about the vital role of DSPs and to advocate for the resources and recognition they deserve.
