Region III Family Support Council seeking new members

The Region III Family Support Council is a volunteer body whose membership consists of those who are supporting a family member with a disability. The Council works in partnership with Lakes Region Community Services, striving to empower families and be a voice for change and inclusion through advocacy and education. The Council also provides a forum for families to make their concerns, needs and preferences known to the Area Agency and policy makers.

Throughout the year the Council sponsors networking and recreational events, as well as parent education opportunities. Through the Council families are also able to access funding to assist with expenses related to their loved one’s disability.

There are currently openings on the Family Support Council. If you have a family member with a developmental disability or acquired brain disorder who receives services from LRCS, we would love to hear from you! Council meetings are generally held on the fourth Wednesday of the month. If you are interested in joining the Council or just attending a meeting to find out more, please contact Lynn Hilbrunner at 527-4893 or kandlranch@metrocast.net
