Thankful Thursday…

Offices at Melcher & Prescott overflow with Thanksgiving goodies to donate to the LRCS Family Resource Center for local families!

It might be Friday,  but this morning my mind and heart were fast forwarded to next Thursday and thankfulness.  Here at Lakes Region Community Services we have plenty of blessings to count.  The individuals and families we support, our amazing employees who go above and beyond every single day, our friends, supporters and donors…and the list goes on.  Today I had the privilege of receiving an unsolicited message and gifts from one of our corporate friends, Melcher & Prescott.

Waneta Forbes and her staff in the Moultonborough office of Melcher & Prescott held a contest, challenging their teams across the Lakes Region to see who could create the biggest Thanksgiving Basket for donating to families served by LRCS.  They came up with 7 full baskets, and the winning basket held 137 items!  The pictures are nothing short of astounding, not just your average Thanksgiving baskets!  We cannot thank Melcher & Prescott enough for their generosity.

What strikes me the most about this tremendous showing of the spirit of giving is that we didn’t have to ask.  As most of our friends know, we don’t mind asking, but wow, when someone just steps up, it drives home how so many people are touched by the work being done here!

Minor Myers, Jr.  said “Go into the world and do well. But more importantly go into the world and do good.”

Melcher & Prescott…you done good!

Happy Thanksgiving!
