Dates set for Autism Center Walkathon and Miles for Smiles 5K

If you have been involved in the Autism Center Walkathon in Laconia or the Miles for Smiles 5K Walk/Run in Downtown Plymouth over the past few years, we have some news for you.

Miles for Smiles 5K Walk/Run

Both events are being repositioned in 2016 and are swapping seasons. The Autism Center Walkathon, which has been held in May since it was founded in 2011, is now set for Sunday, Sept. 18. Miles for Smiles, which raises funds to support dental care for adults with disabilities, will be held on Saturday, June 11.

Opportunities to grow and enhance both events prompted these changes and we are encouraged that both events will benefit.

Miles for Smiles is moving from a week night to a weekend, which should expand the number of people who can participate. In terms of the Autism Center Walkathon, there seem to be fewer conflicting events in the early fall than there are in the spring and the weather should still be favorable for a pleasant walk on the WOW Trail.
