‘CRAVE’ Job Internship Graduates Two

CRAVE Job Internship

CRAVE Graduates Bradley Long (L) and Chris Connor (R) with Sara Constant

Brad Long and Chris Connors are the two newest graduates of CRAVE – a job training internship program for people who experience disabilities. Centerplate Recruiting and Assistance for Valuable Employees is an on the job training internship program based at the Gunstock Mountain Resort that teaches participants the skills needed to attain competitive employment in the food service industry.

The CRAVE internship is an 8-week program. Centerplate General Manager Linda Howard assigns tasks. LRCS Job Developer Sara Constant coaches and works alongside the interns. Centerplate employees also mentor and assist the interns as they learn to master their assigned tasks.

Brad had already worked at Gunstock doing dishes and cleaning. He enrolled in the CRAVE program because he has aspirations of becoming a prep cook. Chris also wanted to learn new skills and broaden his resume. According to Constant, the two worked very hard and excelled in all areas of the program.

Interns attend the program three days a week. Each intern develops an employment portfolio that includes resumes and references. Upon completing the CRAVE program, all interns receive assistance in seeking employment and other career services.
