Zachary Camenker, a student at St. Anselm College in Manchester, presents Jennifer Doris, Manager of the Autism Center of Central NH, with a donation on his recent visit to LRCS in Laconia.

Zachery Camenker, an English and Education Major, heading into his senior year at St. Anslem College in Manchester, recently visited the LRCS Autism Center to deliver a donation. The money was raised at an event to promote ‘Autism Awareness Week’ at the College in April.

This is the second ‘Autism Awareness’ event organized by Zachary and students at St. Anslem College and supporting the Autism Center. “Autism affects so many children and families. Understanding it is important for everyone. We wanted the money to go to a local organization that helps NH children and families, commented Zachary. It was so great to visit the Autism Center and LRCS and learn about all the wonderful work they do. I only wish I was going to be in Laconia this Sunday for the Autism Center Walkathon.”

Zachary comes from a family of educators in Reading MA and has plans to become a high school teacher. He noted that his mother, an early education teacher, helped instill a passion for helping children and students with developmental disabilities and their families.
